Cricket World Cup comes to Berkswell

BalsallCom.Com’s Claire Turner shares her experiences of Complete Cricket’s exciting summer camps for boys and girls:

Local youngsters had the chance to take part in their very own version of the Cricket World Cup at Berkswell Cricket Club in July and the opportunity is coming around again as coaching consultancy bring one of their action-packed summer camps back to Meeting House Lane again next week.

As part of a week long coaching course an excited group of energetic children played in a World Cup and T20 games while picking up valuable skills and experience and having a great time too.

The week was organised by Complete Cricket and held at Berkswell Cricket Club’s Meeting House Lane ground in Balsall Common. Despite mixed weather, from thunder storms and heavy rain to the hottest day of the year, there was plenty of batting, bowling and fielding practice. Quizzes and other activities kept everyone busy when rain stopped play.

Competitions for best catch, longest hit, furthest throw, and best bowling, gave everyone the chance to test their newly-acquired skills.

For those who enjoyed the week, and anyone who missed it, there is another chance to join in next week from Monday 19th until Friday 23rd August. Sessions run from 10am to 3pm each day, are suitable for boys and girls ages 5 to 16, of any cricket ability.
