Cricket: ‘Big Four’ local clubs to play in Floodlit T20 bash

Skippers from left to right: Martin Donald (Kenilworth Wardens); Dave Smith (Knowle & Dorridge); Tina Nason (MD Carrick Travel); Dominic Ostler (Berkswell); Rob Williams (Leamington)

Berkswell’s Tyler Packaging 1st XI make a welcome return to the Carrick Travel floodlit T20 tournament at Kenilworth Wardens’ Glasshouse Park next week as the ‘Big Four’ clubs from Warwickshire and the West Midlands battle it out in a round-robin league format from Monday to Wednesday, to find out the order of play for Finals Night on Thursday.

Berkswell CC, led by Warwickshire batting legend Dominic Ostler, join Knowle & Dorridge, Leamington and event hosts Kenilworth Wardens to do battle under lights and with 2 matches every evening (5:30pm and 7:50pm start times), there is plenty to look forward to. Last year’s event was a huge success, with great cricket and excellent crowds that included some big names in cricket, such as England and Warwickshire star Ian Bell.

Entry to the ground each evening is £2 on foot or £5 per vehicle. In addition to the Wardens’ usual excellent facilities (including licensed bar), there will be additional catering on site.
