Public spirited St John Ambulance volunteers have teamed up with the Brickmakers Arms for a barbecue fund raiser this Sunday (17th July) at the 17th century public house on Station Road, Balsall Common. The family friendly event is open invitation and St John’s representative and event organiser Geraint Hewett is hoping that local residents will join in the fun whilst helping to raise funds towards the Coventry branches attempts to raise funds towards 2 fully kitted cycle response units.
“There’s around 150,000 people who die in situations where prompt first aid could have given them a chance to live and these fully kitted out cycles will offer the chance make the difference in getting medically trained responders incidents quickly, be they road traffic accidents or medical emergencies. These bikes can be vital to reducing response times where other forms of transport would struggle.”
