Ex-England and British Lions rugby player Tim Stimpson hits the roads with around 500 runners as he participates in Balsall Common’s inaugural Fun Run, part of the Balsall Common Festival, on Saturday 20th September 2014.
Running is THE thing to do in Balsall Common this summer! Day and night there are always runners out and about in the village. Interest has been heightened by Balsall Common’s first ever Fun Run on 20 September. Coupled with a newly formed running club for the village, it’s a great time to pull on your trainers and get running.
Entering an event or joining a club are great ways to get started and stay motivated. Or if you are feeling really keen why not do both!
It’s not too late to enter the Lily Mae Foundation Fun Run, part of the Balsall Common Festival. Entries are just £13 for the 5k or 10k race. Kids aged 5-10 can enter mini Fun Runs that take place at the Lant on the Saturday afternoon. There will be no entries on the day so do sign up in advance. www.lilymaefoundation.org/funrun
If you want to train with others, the Balsall Common Running Club meets on Thursdays at 6.30pm and at 9am on Saturday mornings at The Lant (between tennis courts and cricket pitch), Meeting House Lane, Balsall Common.
