There’s an opportunity for women to shop and pamper themselves whilst raising money for charity this Friday 1st March from 6:30pm at the Manor Hotel in Meriden.
Balsall Common retailer Sweet Memories is gearing up for the Queen’s Jubilee in a big way as they prepare for their participation in the Lions Garden Fete and Party in the Park on Tuesday 5th June on Meeting House Lane.
In addition to the range of traditional sweets for which they are best known, they will also be selling candy floss, toffee apples and fresh-blend Mr Whippy, alongside locally produced Henley Ice Creams.

3rd generation butcher John Taylor, whose family butcher’s firm has shops in Earlsdon and Balsall Common, has announced that their Balsall Common shop will be open from 4am to noon tomorrow (Saturday 24th December) to allow residents to stock up on any last minute Christmas items. John Taylor recently won a lifetime achievement award at the Butcher’s Shop of the Year Awards, having started out at the age of 12 working on his father’s farm, before working as a slaughterman then butcher shop owner.

Balsall Common will be without a Post Office temporarily when Mills Newsagents is closed as part of a refurbishment and rebranding exercise by new owners One Stop this week. The Tesco owned convenience store chain will bring down the curtain on the Mills Newsagent brand with a phased closure, starting with the closure of the Post Office.
