Berkswell and Balsall Rugby FC are launching girls tag rugby for ages 8-17 with support from the RFU- the sport’s governing body. Head coach and father of three daughters Jim Minogue explains more:
“In recent years, Rugby’s popularity has increased amongst girls and women, and England won the 2014 Women’s Rugby World Cup and on the back of this the RFU aims to boost the numbers playing to 100,000. Berkswell will train girls from local schools, play league games and host several festivals. The recent strategic £47K grant from the RFU to install new pitch drainage has given the club some of the best facilities in the area.”
The Mini & Junior section of BBRFC start their season this Sunday 10am at their ground on Honiley Road. Registration runs all month and boys and girls aged 5-16 are invited to come along to the club on Sunday throughout September to give it a try.
