The Midland Charities Association Christmas card shop has returned to Balsall Common library for another year. Their annual 7 week run is already well underway and will remain ope until Saturday 12th December 2015.

The shop operates during library opening hours as follows:

Monday & Thursday 10am – 6pm
Tuesday 10am – 5pm;
Friday 2pm – 5pm;
Saturday 10am – 4pm

The library is closed on Wednesdays & Sundays.

There will be cards from 16 different charities.

The summer holiday is here, the weather forecast is interesting, so what is there to do in and around Balsall Common?

Lavender Hall Park

Lavender Hall Park is a popular choice and there is a teddy bear’s picnic there on Wednesday 31st July from 11am-2pm and a Fun Festival on Wednesday 14 August from 11-3.You don’t have to travel too far to try out a wide range of other parks. If you’re looking to cool down why not try the Memorial Park in Coventry and its water playground, or splash about in Leamington’s Victoria Park or Warwick’s St Nicholas Park.

Birmingham Airport Hits the Road

Bothered about the Birmingham International Airport traffic over the area, particularly during the summer? What is the current status regarding the runway expansion? You have the opportunity to pose these questions to employees of the airport at Balsall Common library tomorrow (Thursday 7th July) from 5pm till 7pm.
