Kingswinford 4 v Berkswell & Balsall Common 1 (James Bonell)

High flying Berkswell crashed to a ‘Chelsea-esque’ 4-1 defeat, their first league defeat in 14 games. Berkswell found themselves on the back foot within the first 30 seconds as Kingswinford’s superb Christmas signing from National League outfit Stourport took the ball skilfully round most the team before slotting it past the shellshocked ‘keeper.

09/02/06 – Hockey: Balsall retain top spot

Berkswell & Balsall Common 2 (Oli Talbot, James Bonnel) Chaddesley Corbett 0Berkswell stretched their unbeaten run to 13 games to continue their run at the top of the Coaching Solutions West Midlands League. Whilst the scoreline did not reflect the amount of chances created by Berkswell the visitors did at times make the home team work for the victory.

Malvern Mens 1st XI: 1 Berkswell & Balsall Common Mens 1st XI: 9

Berkswell continued their good run of form in the Coaching Solutions Mens Hockey League with their second successive 9-1 victory. Four goal hero (and man of the match) Andy Livingstone and his strike partner Rob Whisson got things underway early on with well worked goals, finishing off rebounds from the over-worked Malvern ‘keeper.
