The only way is up for Yaz and her Balsall Common musical

Centre Stage Drama Group brings an exciting new musical to the stage, written by the group’s talented young writer, actress and Director Yazmin Zahran.  ’Yaz’ drew inspiration for her creation from Glee, Mama Mia and High School Musical to create a stunningly professional production which runs at the Heart of England School for two nights on the 25th and 26th May.

 

Yaz’s musical ” Gimme Gimme Gimme… An Idea”, tells the story of High School drama students seeking inspiration for their end of year show, whilst trying to cope with their everyday teenage trials and tribulations.  The show draws inspiration from a mixture of  shows including Glee, Mama Mia and High School Musical, showcasing an energetic, talented and youthful cast, supported by the group’s experienced performers.

Chance to dance at Clothes Show Live for Balsall Common girls

Balsall Common girls can win an opportunity to dance at this year’s Clothes Show Live at auditions hosted by the Animated Dance Academy this Thursday at Heart of England School.  Chloe Dance, who runs regular dance sessions for girls aged from 6 years to 18, at the school on Tuesday evenings says:

“This Thursday is a massive opportunity for girls in Balsall Common to get into our Dance Team and perform at The Clothes Show Live.”

Heart of England School Spring Fair in Balsall Common

Friends of Heart of England School, formerly known as the Parent Teacher Association, are putting on an evening of fashion, beauty and food this Friday evening (9th March 2012) at the school in Gypsy Lane, Balsall Common.  The event which will include a licensed bar and fashion show from Year 11 pupils, will run from 7pm.

School league tables place Heart of England school third in the borough for A-Level results

Just released secondary school league tables for 2011 reveal the brilliant news that Balsall Common’s Heart of England ranks third in the Solihull borough for A-level results (and even better, second if you count only state schools). For GCSE results, the school modestly moved up one place to 10th compared to 2010.
