Chance to dance at Clothes Show Live for Balsall Common girls

Balsall Common girls can win an opportunity to dance at this year’s Clothes Show Live at auditions hosted by the Animated Dance Academy this Thursday at Heart of England School.  Chloe Dance, who runs regular dance sessions for girls aged from 6 years to 18, at the school on Tuesday evenings says:

“This Thursday is a massive opportunity for girls in Balsall Common to get into our Dance Team and perform at The Clothes Show Live.”

New NHS dental service for Balsall Common residents

Balsall Common residents will have access to NHS dental services with the arrival of the new medical centre, construction of which is nearing completion on Meadowhall Road on land next to the Brickmakers Arms.  The launch date for the service is yet to be announced but is expected to be available from April 2012.

Multiple world record champion opens doors to Balsall Common training studio

Serial world record breaker Paddy Doyle is currently enjoying one of the busiest, most exciting and gruelling periods of his life as we found out when we joined him to celebrate the opening of his purpose built training studio in the grounds of his Balsall Common home.

Endurance athlete Doyle has been working hard on building and launching his new training studio whilst in the middle of a mind boggling challenge to break 30 world records in a calendar year, a record towards which he has made excellent progress to date, with 11 world records since he got underway on 31st July. But that’s not the end of the excitement for Paddy because he’s also looking forward to forming a family with the expected arrival of a baby with long-term partner Deborah in mid- December.

Surprisingly for what is a predominantly affluent area, Balsall Common is an unusually vulnerable to place to live on those rare occasions when serious health incidents occur, such as road accidents or cardiac arrest.  There is 150,000 deaths in the UK from cardiac arrest annually in the UK and survival can be heavily dictated by the speed at which initial treatment is provided. As Balsall Common’s Jeffrey Way explains it’s the village location on the outer reaches of the emergency services orbit which places residents and visitors at greater risk.
