Peppercorn Wholefoods have been trading at The Jubilee community space in Balsall Common for 10 years, unbeknownst to the majority of locals.
The business – which specialises in dried fruit, nuts, seeds, cereals, herbs and spices – is run by Nicky and Sue from 10:00 am till 4:00 pm most Fridays:
“We’re here every Friday, except for the third one every month and we obviously like to support the centre having been trading here for a decade,” explains Peppercorn’s Sue Marsh:
“We found the Jubilee through a Greenfest event we did at St Peter’s Church. The vicar there recommended we take a look at the Jubilee Centre. That was going back 10 years. We booked our slot and we’ve been here ever since.”
When they are not trading at The Jubilee, Peppercorn Wholefoods can be found at Southam Market on Tuesdays and Kenilworth Market every Thursday.
Nicky and Sue are willing to arrange deliveries for Balsall Common residents on request.

A new venture, Berkswell Vintage, has organised a fantastic afternoon to treat your mum on Mother’s Day.
If your mum would enjoy scrumptious homemade cake and the nostalgia of vintage stands head to Berkswell Reading Rooms between 1 and 4pm on 15 March.
There will be afternoon tea with cakes made by the cake makers of the Balsall Common Country Market and organisers are combining them with a vintage inspired market.
The market stalls will have vintage clothes and things for the home.
Berkswell Vintage will be regular fixture at the Reading Rooms, and after the 15 March, the next one will be on 29 March. From then on the intention is to settle into the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month.
If you have any questions or would like more details of stall holders and dates of future afternoons please like Berkswell Vintage on Facebook or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Pupils at the Heart of England School have been busy working on a magnificent despicable giant mural for Balsall Common’s big bonfire and fireworks display, to be held at The Lant on Saturday 8th November, in a joint venture staged by the local Lions and Berkswell & Balsall Common Sports Association. In true Lions tradition the giant mural is set for a short life-span, scheduled as it is for destruction in flames at the front of this year’s bonfire.
Organisers have kept the economy’s inflationary pressures at bay by freezing all entrance-fees at 2013 levels, with event timetable and pricing as follows:
We may be a bit behind the times but we’ve only just realised Sweet Memories is re-open for business behind Westwood Hair and Beauty.
As before, it sells all your traditional sweet shop favourites from chocolate limes and liquorice toffees, to ABC letters and strawberry sherbets. They also sell a wide range of ice creams and coffees and slushies. There is a small seating area outside. So if you are looking for a treat for yourself or the kids, are out and about in the village in need of caffeine or sugar, why not head in and see what they have to offer.
