‘Intriguing’ would be one word to describe plans for a Frog Racing evening at the Berkswell Royal British Legion next to Berkswell Station this Saturday (1st February 2014), which sees residents invited to come and ride their favourite frog in one of 6 first-round heats with a further race for qualifiers for a grand final.
A non-exhaustive list of frogs in the competitive fray include: Francois the Frog; Froggie Le Croak; Pepe Le Peu; Petis Pois; Cuisse de Grenoilles; Ze Fallen Madonna; Tour de Frog and Napolean torn Apart.

The summer holiday is here, the weather forecast is interesting, so what is there to do in and around Balsall Common?
Lavender Hall Park is a popular choice and there is a teddy bear’s picnic there on Wednesday 31st July from 11am-2pm and a Fun Festival on Wednesday 14 August from 11-3.You don’t have to travel too far to try out a wide range of other parks. If you’re looking to cool down why not try the Memorial Park in Coventry and its water playground, or splash about in Leamington’s Victoria Park or Warwick’s St Nicholas Park.
The White Horse on Kenilworth Road in Balsall Common has been preparing for Mothers Day and is inviting people t come along and select from their specially prepared two or three course menu options, which also caters for children under 12.
We’ve been provided with a sneaky-peak at this Sunday’s Mother’s Day special at the link below, why not take a look:
