The soul train rumbles through Balsall Common


The soul train is due in at the Railway Inn next to Berkswell station this Friday (22nd March 2013), with its’ usual mix of tunes from the 60s right through to the 90s.


The Slater boys are on it again with their funky mobile Rumours Soul Suite from 8:30pm and as usual entry is free.

St Patrick’s Day Party at Berkswell’s Nailcote Hall


The folk at Berkswell’s Nailcote Hall are kicking off the St Patricks Day celebrations two days early with their big bash this Friday (15th March). The fun-packed party with obligatory Irish flavour & a whole lot more, courtesy of live band ‘The Boys Next Door’.


Nailcote Hall is not only a fabulous location with its’ own fabulous 9 hole Par 3 golf course, but one of Balsall and Berkswell’s biggest employers with around 60 staff on the books, most of whom live locally.

Soul brothers and sisters summoned to Balsall Common


The Rumours Soul Suite disco rolls into town again this Friday evening at the Railway Inn, next to Berkswell Station. The Slater boys are back again with their regular Friday night roadshow, showcasing their usual mix of tunes across the decades, from the 60s to 90s.


The music gets underway every Friday evening at 8:30pm and entry is free.

Balsall Common businessman brings cricket star to Birmingham


Indian and Lancashire cricketing legend Farokh Engineer is the guest of honour at Balsall Common businessman Des Blee’s Spring Sporting Lunch at The Holiday Inn on Smallbrook Queensway in Birmingham on Friday 8th March 2013.


Visitors to the daytime event can expect to enjoy a fine four course meal, before being regailed by entertaining tales from Farokh’s distinguished past. A top comedian will round things off.
