Balsall Common pub all set for Beer Festival

Balsall Common’s White Horse will be hosting ‘Beers in Balsall’ – their end-of-Summer beer Festival, from 5pm on Friday 29 September until 10.30pm on Sunday 1 October.

White Horse General Manager Luke Hawkins

The team at the Kenilworth Road pub and restaurant is looking forward to serving 12 carefully selected local ales including the award-winning Churchend Brewery Goats Milk – Champion Beer of Britain 2017.

Visitors can also expect guest ales supplied by Black Country Ales, Warwickshire Brewery, Silhill Brewery, Old Pie Factory and The Slaughterhouse Brewery.

The White Horse General Manager Luke Hawkins said:

“Our September gin event was well supported and we’re hoping ‘Beers in Balsall’ will go down well too. We’ll be rolling out more themed evenings and weekends throughout the Autumn and Winter – and our new menu will be launched in the coming weeks, so we’re keeping busy!”

Festival set for a dose of Ginger magic

Ginger Property the local Estate Agent is among the list of 2017 Balsall Common Festival sponsors and Company boss Carl Hemming will be MCing from the Main Stage in the evening for a 6th successive year.

Ginger’s Carl Hemming preparing for the 2017 Balsall Common Festival

Carl is no stranger to community causes and is a long-serving member of the Festival Committee.  Thanks to his regular commitments as a compere, he is well-known as the face and voice of various community events, that also happens to include the Balsall Common Lions bonfire and fireworks night. On top of that Carl can also be heard as a broadcaster, presenting shows for Balsall Radio.

In a former life, Carl was also Chairman of local dramatics group Centre Stage, for a period of three years.

This year Carl wanted to sprinkle some Ginger magic on Festival proceedings, with a Company stand next to the Festival’s Main Stage:

“We’re so proud to be sponsoring the Festival'” says Carl:

“We are hoping to see lots of members of the community at our Ginger hub next to the Main Stage, where we have lots of festive fun goings-on planned. Come and join us for a natter, in a strictly no-pressure Festival-friendly environment.”

Ginger will be accompanied on their stall by another Festival sponsor, the Award Winning Acclaimed Mortgage Consultancy.

The Balsall Common Festival runs for more than 8 hours at The Lant on Meeting House Lane and takes place on Saturday 23rd September. The gates open at 1 pm. See website for details:
