Has anyone noticed that most of these people are not of these shores the women outside the post office was lying on the floor proped up the post box the other day it looked like the third world I did not come to Balsall Common to see this sort of thing, I can go into Birmingham any day of the week for that. Stop buying this paper and these people will go away maybe even to where they came from.

Foreigners in Balsall Common? Really? Proped up and everything? Tsk! Somehow, I have a suspicion that you haven't been to "the third world" much....

the guy who sells outside the co op is actually banned from selling there i work in the co op and we had so many complaints about him hasseling customers that the manager of coop had to get int ouch with the big issue people and make a formal complaint and he is not supposed to sell there.
i dont have a problem with people seling the big issue but i do have a problem with the way sme of them behave ther was one occassion where the man outside co op chased after and elderly lady and was very aggressive towards here and pressuring her to buy a magazine, i find this behavoir un acceptable and should not be tolerated, no matter how bad off he may seem it doesnt mean he can be rude, he has also been caught nicking in the co op and he pretends he cant speak english when he can quite well.

Hi Velonda,

Thanks for sharing your story.

I've seen a number of Big Issue sellers in Balsall Common over the last 12 months, but am sure I know which one you mean. Let us know if our friendly salesman is seen again. :)

Not a popular move with the locals, as I'm sure you can imagine. ;)

At last Tuesday's Residents Association Meeting Solihull's Police representative advised that our Romanian Big Issue seller - most famous for his sob stories, begging and general all-round harassment skills - has received his final warning about his conduct.

I'm not sure what this actually means should he be foolish enough to repeat whatever activity it was that earned this warning. But being as they're not allowed to shoot him, whatever it is, it's not that. At least I don't think so anyway.
