Queens Jubilee 2012
It’s looking like there will be plenty of reasons to stay in Balsall Common and Berkswell over the Jubilee weekend, what with the big family event run by the Balsall Common Lions, a street party in Berkswell, plus 60s/70s pop legends The Fortunes playing on an outdoor stage at the Railway Inn on Tuesday 5th June.

Berkswell Jubilee Street Party
Berkswell Street Party with jester and steel band, hosted by Berkswell Parish Council. This event is participating in the Big Jubilee Lunch, the theme being ‘having lunch with your neighbours’ in friendship and fun.
Monday 4th June
Jubilee fun at the Brickmakers Arms
Includes live evening entertainment from Fingers and Fumbs, come back for updates.
Tuesday 5th June
Jubilee Celebrations at the Railway Inn Balsall Common
Lots on here, activities all day including £100 prize money up for grabs in a ‘Railway’s Got Talent’ competition, plus 60s/70s pop legends The Fortunes playing on an outdoor stage in the car park next to Berkswell Station from 8:30pm.
Doors at the Railway will open at midday, with Rumours Roadshow Disco and MC from 2pm onwards playing music and introducing acts/activities.
- 2pm – Rumours Roadshow disco &? MC
- 4pm – Railway’s Got Talent (heats)
- 6-8pm – Christy Pepper – popular Coventry and district singer
- 8-8:30pm – Railways Got Talent Final (£100 Winner’s Prize)
- 8:30-10:30 – The Fortunes
- 10:30pm until close MarkOne Disco and Karaoke
Other attractions: Hot dog stall, Ice Cream van. Grand raffle with flatscreen TV for 1st prize. All proceeds to Acorns and St John’s Ambulance. S John’s volunteers will also be present on site.

Balsall Common Lions Village Fete and Party in the Park
A free family friendly event to run from 2pm at the Lant Sports Ground on Meeting House Lane (gatesopen at 1:30pm). Live music includes a Take That tribute act performing on the clubhouse balcony from 7pm.

Party in the Park (evening)
- Abba Tribute (from 6:15pm – Gimme Gimme Show performed by Centre Stage next to main clubhouse)
- That’s Life (from 7pm to 9pm Take That tribute from the clubhouse balcony)

- 14:30 – 15:30 Cricket: a chance for teenagers and youngsters to bowl in the nets against the speed gun (certificates and prizes)
- 15:30 – 16:30 Tennis: a chance to find out how fast you can serve against the speed gun
- 16:00 – 17:00 Cricket: a chance for youngsters to play Kwik Cricket (a fun short-form variation of the game run by The Cricket Clinic)
- 16:00 – 18:00 Tennis: a chance for rusty racquets to enjoy some coaching

Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Night at Nailcote Hall
The fittingly name Freddie Mercury and Queen tribute band Queen B will be the headline act for Nailcote Hall’s spectacular Jubilee party night.
A special Royal Menu and after show disco for those who want to party till late.
Tickets: £37.50 per head or £35 per head on booking for 10 people or more.
