The second edition of Balsall’s Got the Voice – Balsall Common’s search for musical talent – gets underway this Friday (12th June 2015) at the Berkswell & District Royal British Legion opposite Berkswell railway station.

This year’s competition introduces age categories for the first time, with a growing list of prizes that include a 12 month Management Deal for the overall winner, courtesy of Brum Beat Music Ltd, with recording studio time supplied separately by Coventry’s Shabby Road studios.

The acoustic music competition for soloists and duos is an integral part of the Balsall Common Festival and organisers will be hoping for a repeat of the success of last year’s competition.
Many of last year’s competitors have already recorded and published their own original material since last September’s Finals, including Jack Burley, Tom Wynne and Paris Georgia.

20 year old Paris, a former Heart of England School pupil Paris Georgia released her debut EP, Stranger to You, released on Friday 17th April this Spring, which shot to No.2 in the iTunes Country download charts that weekend. Paris has been busy ever since and jetted off to Nashville on Monday to perform and collaborate with some of the famous city’s resident Country artists.

Friday’s initial Heat will be followed by two more (in July and August), a Quarter Finals on Friday 11th September, then a Gand Finals Day at the Balsall Common Festival on Saturday 19th September 2015.
