Balsall Common now has a second Community Public Access Defibrillator (CPAD) site thanks to the combined efforts of four local organisations. The new defibrillator, located outside Unity Carstins showroom in Station Road, was purchased by Balsall Common Lions, the heated box was installed free of charge by John Sleath of “The Job Squad” in an exercise facilitated by Jeff Way of Fast Aid, the local Community First Responder Group.

This is the second CPAD site in Balsall Common and others are planned for the future. Soon staff at Carstins will be trained by FastAid in Life Support, CPR and the use of the Defibrillator. The Unity team will join more than 100 Balsall Common residents who have already been taught these lifesaving skills by FastAid’s team.
