Balsall Common fete and Party in the Park – Saturday 28th September 2013

‘By the community for the community’ is the message behind an action-packed family event planned for Saturday 28th September 2013 at the Lant Sports Ground on Meeting House Lane in Balsall Common, which aims to raise money for local causes.

 

The 8 hour fun-fest boasts more than 50 stalls, plus activities, games, demonstrations, arena performances and live music from a specially constructed outdoor stage.

 

Event highlights:

  • Dog display introduced and sponsored by Mogz and Dogz
  • Live music from the Giocoso Saxophone Quartet, Dino Baptiste and A Few Good Men
  • Over 50 stalls

  • Prize Fancy dress parade “Dr Who and 100 years ago”- sponsored by Balsall Common Taekwondo Club
  • Taekwondo display
  • Animated Dance Academy Performance Team
  • Zumba by Penny’s Fitness
  • Centre Stage performing excerpts from the hit West End Musical ‘Our House’
  • BWR Radio Roadshow with Liam Sawyer

Local clubs, groups, charities and businesses have come together to create an event which aims to bring the whole community together whilst putting money back into worthy local causes.

 

 

 

Entertainment from 1pm – 9pm

Organisers have lined up non-stop entertainment and activities from 1pm until 9pm, starting and ending with live music from the specially constructed outdoor stage, interspersed with arena performances, displays, fun and games.

 

Live music with Party in the park

Bigger, better, louder and longer is the theme for the 2013 Party in the Park, with a line-up as follows:

 

4:30pm – BWR Radio Roadshow presented by Liam Sawyer
6:00pm – Dino Baptiste (Jam House)
7:15pm – A Few Good Men (covers band)

 

Dino Baptiste is a regular at the iconic Jam House in Birmingham, specialising in blues, boogie-woogie and Rock’n’Roll. Dino will be followed by popular covers band A Few Good Men. This highly accomplished four-piece act includes band members with Top 40 Hit experience playing in bands that include the world-famous Electric Light Orchestra.”
