14 year old Heart of England pupil Liam Sawyer will be hosting a rugby special Red Nose Day Radio Show from Berkswell & Balsall Rugby Football Club while the 1st XV entertain visitors Ludlow this Saturday (9th March 2013).
Liam, who is the man behind the online radio station Berkswell Windmill Radio, aims to be broadcasting and selling goodies simultaneously from the clubhouse kitchen and elaborates on his plans as follows:
“I will be down Berkswell & Balsall Rugby Club from about 12:30 to get the radio set up and the plan is to do interviews with people around the club: members, players, bar staff, caterers and spectators.”
There’s two home fixtures at Berkswell’s Meer Lane ground between Balsall Common and Honiley, both kicking off at 3pm: Berkswell’s first string play a vital important West Midlands Division One fixture agains fellow strugglers Ludlow; Berkswell’s 2nds take on local rivals Earlsdon.
Berkswell’s 1st XV play a particularly high standard of semi-professional rugby and welcome new visitors. This charity weekend could be a great time to get involved as there is also a catered lunch, which is open to first-time visitors, for which tickets are available at £10 a head. Interested parties should email Lesley Fahy in the first instance at firstname.lastname@example.org stating ‘BBRFC Lunch’ in the subject header.
