Berkswell & Balsall Common’s Sports Association is putting on a spooky family-friendly Halloween charity bonfire and fireworks party at The Lant on Meeting House Lane in Balsall Common. The event on Wednesday 31st October represents a departure from the usual annual Guy Fawkes nights at the home of Berkswell Cricket and Tennis Club, as Organising Committee spokesperson Judith Parry-Evans explains:
“We wanted to increase the fun-factor this year and we thought what better way than to combine all the best bits from Halloween and Guy Fawkes night?”
The plan means partygoers will get all the spookiness of Halloween, together with the pyrotechnics of Guy Fawkes night and a mixture of attractions as Judith reveals:
“We’ve got the bonfire and fireworks provided by Halo FX as usual and we’re bringing back the fire-breathers, children’s rides, bouncy castle and hog-roast, but this year we’re adding a spooky fancy dress, along with Halloween prize-games.”
Visitors can also expect to find a licensed bar inside the clubhouse and a children’s bar outside selling soft drinks and snacks.
Tickets will be £5 per person or £15 for families of up to 5 persons. Advanced tickets can be obtained at Balsall Common Pharmacy or Two Ten Hair Design from week commencing Monday 1st October 2012. Proceeds from the event will be distributed to local schools and charities.
