Former Heart of England School pupil Amy Matthews has set her stall out to form a senior ladies netball team to represent Balsall Common. Her goal is to recruit a squad large enough to compete in the Coventry League and put the village on the local netball map.
“We’ve already generated interest through talking to friends and sharing our plans on Facebook but we need enough ladies that players can skip games to look after family without feeling guilty about it.”
Amy’s initial efforts have generated some early momentum but as it’s early days the girls have not yet established a venue, but their hopes are that they will be able to use Heart of England School for training and home fixtures. The anticipated age-range for players is anywhere from 14 to 60, but Amy will be pleased to hear from anybody who is up for the challenge.
