Queen’s Jubilee organisers in Balsall Common hunt for help

The Balsall Common Lions are entering the final throes of preparations for their big Queen’s Jubilee celebrations at the Lant on Meeting House Lane. If the weather allows, the family friendly event which takes place on Tuesday 5th June could be the biggest community event Balsall Common has ever witnessed.

Due to the constant expansion of the event there’s still a number of roles for which help is needed in the final days leading up to the event, painting signs and banners, then on the day with set up and take down and onwards into the morning after. Other tasks include the transport of equipment and tables, help running stalls, marshalling and collection tin-rattling. The Lions are hoping to recruit sufficient volunteers from the community to make light work for everybody involved on the day.

Lions President Marie-Louise Marsden says:

“I would just say a big thank you to everyone who is helping already, but that we would welcome more help n the day, even it’s just for for an hour or so. ┬áThis is our Jubilee Village Community Event and the more volunteers we have, the more we can reward our voluntary organisation team a little time to enjoy some of the festivities themselves!”

Anyone interested in rolling up their sleeves and getting involved is invited to contact Marie-Louise Marsden on 01676 532829.
