Balsall Common Lions Club

Balsall Common Lions are perhaps best known in and around the village for their annual Santa’s sleigh tour and annual bonfire and fireworks displays which raise large sums of money for good causes. They carry out many activities for good causes all year round.  In 2012 they are working towards a giant Jubilee celebration for the Queen’s Jubilee on Tuesday 5th June 2012.

Balsall Common Lions Club has three main sections – in line with other Lions Clubs around the world – working together for communities, locally, nationally and internationally as follows:

Fundraising

The Lions organise fundraising events such as Balsall Common’s annual bonfire and fireworks display and Santa’s annual sleigh ride round Balsall Common, Berkswell, Fen End and Burton Green. Details of public fund raising events can be found at the Lions Events Calendar page.

Service

The Lions deal with requests for help, which can come from local residents or from the other side of the world.  The aim is to help as many local people as possible, but also to become involved in international projects, often working together with other Lions groups.

Fellowship
