A Balsall Rhapsody at HoE school from this Tuesday

Why bother with an expensive trip to a west end musical when you can be similarly rocked in the Heart of England ?

This article, originally published in the December edition of the Bugle and written by Jamie Wright and Alice Macskimming, reveals more…

“It’s that time of year again when and students at Heart of Englands School are working hard in rehearsal their next school show –  “We Will Rock You”
This rock musical set in the near future, follows the rebel leader Galileo Figaro and his “rockin’ chick” Scaramouche on a quest to rediscover the living rock and find the lost texts to free the new world, of course, and the lyrics to Bohemian Rhapsody.

Featuring the legendary music of Queen, the show has gained wide critical acclaim, running for over 10 years in the West End; two successful national tours and recently won the 2011 BBC Radio 2 Audience Olivier Award.

Following the success of last year’s production of “Annie”, the drama department felt ready to take on the  latest challenge of this demanding show.

Directed by Sally Owen and Richard Taylor, with vocals coached by Grace Theay and Anna James, and the band headed by the head teacher, Mr. Andrew Mackereth, this is sure to be a killer show, featuring songs such as ‘Killer Queen’, ‘I Want to Break Free’, ‘ Radio Gaga’ and, of course, ‘We Will Rock You!’”

The show runs form 7th Feb for 3 nights. Visit the Heart of England school website for booking information.
