Property owners advised to lodge HS2 compensation claims now

Property owners who think they could be blighted by High Speed 2 are being urged to assume the worst and file their compensation plans now, even though the public enquiry is still underway and final route will not be finalised until later this year.

James Prewett of Knight Frank, the global property agents and consultancy company says that whilst HS2 is not (yet) a done deal, property owners shouldn’t wait for confirmation of the final HS2 route before investigating or submitting potential property blight claims.

For anyone who’s still not participated in the public consultation on HS2 time is fast running out, with the process closing tomorrow (Friday 29th July 2011). To be sure of getting your views heard in time the best option now is to complete the consultation questions online.
