Paddy Doyle gears up for 200 record milestone!

Serial world record breaking athlete Paddy Doyle is aiming to notch up his 200th career record since getting his record breaking career underway way back in 1985. Balsall Common’s fitness, martial arts, boxing and outdoor pursuits trainer takes on a gruelling 26 mile cross-country back-pack challenge in the Warwickshire countryside on Monday (14th February 2011). And the challenge which requires him to carry a 60 lbs backpack, will take in sections of the Grand Union Canal before finishing in Royal Leamington Spa, where he will be well supported by members of his old paratroop regiment, a number of whom will be completing the course with him.

“I never knew I would achieve it , but I really do hope to clinch my 200th strength speed stamina record on Monday and I’m going to have some fantastic support on the day from my sponsors and members of my old regiment” said Paddy.

Paddy is eager for support on this potentially momentous occasion and invites anyone who wishes to join him on route along the final stretches.

“The main last checkpoint for my 200th fitness endurance record will be the Grand Union Canal adjacent to Hatton Railway Station in Hatton Warwickshire. I can’t guarantee my times on the day, but my estimated time of arrival at this checkpoint should be around 10.00 – 10.30am. From there it’s another 6 to 7 mile of walking to reach Leamington Spa Town Centre, the finish point will be Leamington Spa Courier Newspaper offices. Literally anyone is welcome to walk the final stretch with me, I’ll be going at a crawl by that stage so the support will be a great help.”

The event tops off a whirlwind 7 months for the fitness, strength and endurance specialist, having suddenly brought the double century within sight since deciding to go after UK athlete Paul Woodland’s calendar year record of 29 world fitness in July last year. Not only that but Paddy became a father on 15th December, when fiance Deborah gave birth to the beautiful Tabitha. The immensely proud Dad can even sometimes be seen carrying Tabitha on some of his cross-country training walks.

Paddy Doyle’s career total for fitness, strength, endurance, martial arts and boxing records to date stands at 199, of which 126 are still current today. Paddy has gathered 21 strength speed stamina records throughout his calendar year challenge so far, having kicked it all of on 31st July 2010. The record stands at 29.

Paddy now offers people the chance to train with him personally and his doors are open for a wide range of individual and group training, available both on location and from a new purpose built studio in the grounds of his Balsall Common home. The former paratrooper offers one to one fitness training, martial arts and self defense training along with outdoor navigation and mountain leader courses. Paddy is fully qualified to deliver courses for beginners through to advanced trainees in many disciplines and positively welcomes people looking for an opportunity to train with a true world champion athlete.
