Paddy Doyle’s irrepressible world record streak gathers pace

Balsall Common’s ‘Super Soldier’ and Iron Man continued his awe inspiring record breaking blitz with 3 more world records at his 1 2 1 gym on Tuesday, this time in the field of martial arts. Paddy Doyle’s thus far irrepressible march towards a target of 30 strength fitness and and endurance world records in a calender year to beat the current record of 29 (held by Paul Woodlands GB) is now a very real possibility having set the first on 31st July.

Paddy’s three records were all variations on a theme of martial arts punch strikes with 5kg weights in each hand, all carried out in sequence for 1 minute, 5 minutes and 10 minutes respectively.

Paddy’s totals for each challenge were 226 in one minute, 667 in five and 939 in ten and were witnessed to be carried out to the strict criteria of having all been thrown from shoulder height, a particularly energy sapping method when punching with weights in a straight left, right combination. Paddy’s career now spans 195 records of which 121 still stand today.

Paddy now offers people the chance to train with him personally and his doors are open for a wide range of individual and group training, available both on location and from a new purpose built studio in the grounds of his Balsall Common home. The former paratrooper offers one to one fitness training, martial arts and self defense training along with outdoor navigation and mountain leader courses. Paddy is fully qualified to deliver courses for beginners through to advanced trainees in many disciplines and positively welcomes people looking for an opportunity to train with a true world champion athlete.
