The annual Birmingham ArtsFest takes place this weekend (10th-12th September) showcasing a multitude of skills and talents drawn from Birmingham’s thriving artistic community, all for free, across venues scattered throughout the city centre. This hugely successful annual event pulls in an eclectic mix of people and performers including a range of talent such as local rock legends The Twang, famed 80’s groups Musical Youth and Fuzzbox, jazz, electronica, hip-hop, a multitude of dance groups, plus Birmingham Symphony Orchestra to name but a few.
There’s approximately 40 venues putting on free shows around the city include places as Symphony Hall, Central Library, Town Hall, St Paul’s Church, IKON Gallery, The City Inn, various bars and pubs, in addition to the acts appearing in public spaces such as the large open air stages in Centenary Square and Chamberlain Square and Dance Marquee, also in Chamberlain Square.
There’s so much going on there’s a vast amount of information to absorb to find acts which might grab your interest, but with such a wide variety of talent, there is guaranteed to be something to impress just about anybody. All the better given everything is free. The Twang will be headlining the Centenary Square Stage this Sunday (12th September) from 9.30 to 10.15pm.
