High Speed Rail chiefs have agreed to a raft of route changes through Warwickshire in a bid to avoid lengthy battles with campaigners, including the replacement of a controversial viaduct through Burton Green with a less disruptive tunnel. A number of options to reduce the impact at Burton Green are believed to have been considered, including a diversion which would have affected residential properties in Balsall Common. Detailed plans showing the revisions are still being drawn up and will not be published for another three weeks.
