Criminal gangs are plotting different ways of getting motorists, especially women, to stop and get out of their vehicles. One of the latest developments is for gangs to place a children’s car seat on the roadside or pavement, often near wooded or grassy land, with a fake baby in it. This is a growing method for luring motorists into a vulnerable situation where they can be attacked, beaten, robbed and in some cases, raped and left for dead. A local resident reported a sighting like this to Police only recently. Their advice was,
“DO NOT STOP FOR ANY REASON!”

Centre Stage inform us they’re opening the doors to auditionees for their new year panto Alice in Wonderland one more time tonight (Tuesday September 28th). The additional open audition at the Heart of England School, starting at 7.30pm could allow someone in from the cold into a starring role.

Surprisingly for what is a predominantly affluent area, Balsall Common is an unusually vulnerable to place to live on those rare occasions when serious health incidents occur, such as road accidents or cardiac arrest. There is 150,000 deaths in the UK from cardiac arrest annually in the UK and survival can be heavily dictated by the speed at which initial treatment is provided. As Balsall Common’s Jeffrey Way explains it’s the village location on the outer reaches of the emergency services orbit which places residents and visitors at greater risk.
