Birmingham Premier League Division 2
Harborne 171-7 v Berkswell 138-9
[Steve Parker – counter attacked with an aggressive 60]
In a rain affected match reduced to 30 overs per side Berkswell hung on at the end of their innings to come away from their trip to Harborne with a draw.
Batting first, Harborne posted a total of 171 for the loss of seven wickets with former Indian Test
batsman Shiv Sunder Das top scoring with 75 whilst Wes Hartslief and Babar Khan both claimed
two wickets for the visitors.
In reply Berkswell had been reduced to 26 for 4 by the 10th over and looked out of the contest but a fine partnership of 72 in seven overs between Dominic Ostler (29) and Stephen Parker put the visitors in with a chance of victory. The momentum continued with a stand of 58 between Parker and Phil Neale (17) in only 4 overs but the loss of Parker (60) in the 21st over effectively ended the Berkswell run chase and the side were happy to see the overs out and claim a losing draw.
