Who says old people have no fun ? Barchester Healthcare making a planning application for a 80 bed Care Home next to ‘Caesar’s’ nightclub …

As mentioned in the editorial of the September newsletter, Barchester Healthcare is preparing a planning application for the development of an 80 bed Care Home, on the site that we know as the Equestrian Centre. For those of you who are unsure of the location, as you leave the village towards Kenilworth, it is on the right hand side of the A452; ‘Caesar’s’ nightclub is also on this site.
As stated, in the editorial, the development team has held consultation meetings with representatives from the relevant local bodies and now wishes to hear the views of residents. To this end, the team is holding a ‘drop in’ consultation meeting for the public, at which the plans will be displayed and members of the team will be available to answer questions.
This meeting is to be held in the Jubilee Centre, on Monday 2nd November 2009, from 7:00pm until 9:30pm. You are invited to attend.
As a precursor to this meeting, I have been asked to send to you the attached newsletter, which outlines the proposal.
The next meeting of the Residents Association (RA) is on the following evening, Tuesday 3rd November. The proposal will be an item on the agenda, not for detailed discussion, but to receive initial feedback from the open evening. The team’s current target is to submit a planning application, to SMBC, by end November. If this is achieved, it will be on the agenda for the RA meeting to be held on Tuesday 1st December. At this meeting, there will be a full discussion of the proposal leading to the RA Committee making a decision on its comments to be made to SMBC. As is normal, the application will also be appraised by Balsall Parish Council Planning Committee, which is the statutory consultative body. It is expected that Berkswell Parish Council will also carry out a review.
