Berkswell CC 186 for 5 declared (24 pts) beat Worcester CC (2 pts) by 82 All out 104 runs

Berkswell returned to action at their Meeting House Lane ground following 2 successive abandoned fixtures and in a rain affected game, registered another fine win to climb to 3rd place in the league.

17/05/06 – Paddy Doyle begins assault on more World Records

As if breaking 135 National, European and World records at different levels since 1987 wasn’t sufficient, Balsall Common’s Paddy Doyle is planning 2 more world record challenges in 12 months of tough endurance events.

Doyle is aiming to be selected again to represent Great Britain at the World Record Games in Germany and the World Record Challenge Games in the USA. Paddy is already in heavy training entering ‘ultra’ hill and mountain races against fell runners and endurance athletes to produce the fitness levels required for his two record challenges.

17/05/06 – Cricket: Berkswell snare 1st Birmingham League Victory

Matt Nightingale reports on Berkswell’s first success since their promotion to the Birmingham and District Premier League …

“A fine win and 24 points for Berkswell on their home debut in Birmingham League Division 3 against Whitchurch.

Having lost the toss and being asked to bat first Berkswell found runs hard to come by in damp conditions that strongly favoured ball over bat.
