Berkswell & Balsall Common continued their meteoric scaling of the heights by taking 3rd place in the Coaching Solutions West Midlands Division 2.

27/11/05 – Balsall’s multiple World Record Breaker hits the Screen!

For the benefit of anyone who doesn’t know about Balsall Common’s Paddy Doyle, we can tell you he holds 132 current course, national, European and world records in fitness, endurance, boxing and martial arts, which as it turns out, is a world record number of records.

And 40 year old Paddy has now released a DVD documentary about his extraordinary life which he co-produced with well-known midlands broadcaster Malcolm Boyden. Read the rest of this entry »

25/11/05 – Railway Rodbenders storm battle of the Balsall Boozebars!

Fishing Result:

Railway (Inn) Rodbenders – 2lb 12 oz
Royal British Legion – 1 lb
Brickmakers Arms – Did not weigh [fishing code for caught no fish - Ed]

Icebreakers save shortened fishing contest

The Railway Inn came out on top in Sunday’s battle of the Balsall boozebars on a frozen lake in sub-zero conditions.

The 10 a-side, 3-way contest between the Railway Inn, Brickmakers Arms and Royal British Legion was nearly scrapped at one stagebecause Lavender Hall Lane Fisheries Lakes were frozen over. Read the rest of this entry »

BBCHC Mens 1st XI 4 v Barlaston 2

Berkswell continued their fine form capitalising on last weeks 4-0 away win to take a valuable victory against one of the sides relegated from the division above.
