So without further ado, here’s this weekend’s Under 17 match report:
Sunday 28th November 2004
BBRFC 5 – Shipston 12
This week we had a 17 man squad, this was our best turn out so far and obviously extremely beneficial to have subs!
Wet, windy, extremely muddy and very cold was the order of the day!
B’s dominated the first 22 minutes of play, with the ball never going into Shipston’s half but they responded well with good defensive play.
James Munday from B’s replaced Matthew Johnson after a big hit from Shipston. With ten minutes left of the first half B’s Andrew Buck crashed through Shipston defence to score 5 points, with the conversion unsuccessful.
BBRFC 5 – Shipston 0
B’s made a substitution at the start of the second half; Adam Dennis replaced Nick Clarke.
The first ten minutes of play B’s looked to be on the verge of scoring but again excellent defensive play from Shipston and a big boot down the park resulted in Shipstons’ Alex Bailey scoring in the right hand corner but the conversion was wide.
With the score level and both teams needing a win each teamed played with determination. Shipston’s second try came within the last ten minutes with Alex Bailey scoring his second try of the game right under the post, the conversion was successfully kicked by Josh Baird.
Well done lads although it wasn’t a win it was a good game to watch and you stayed completely focused for the full 80 minutes in such wet, cold muddy conditions.
