CraigyB writes “Berkswell’s Cricketers had the Bank Holiday blues as the 1st XI’s weekend programme piled on the agony …

On Saturday the 1st XI fell agonisingly short of a famous win over North Warwickshire.

Chasing 205 our valiant men fell 3 runs short of their target to claim a losing draw. For those of you who don’t know cricket, that probably sounds wierd.

And you’d be right. Even to a cricketer a losing draw sounds wierd.

On Bank Holiday Monday Berkswell (121 All out) lost to Kenilworth (221), with the only positive to come from this game being skipper Paddy Milnes’ finding fine form with the ball to take 6-77.

After the game Milnes said,

“Tell me what, I don’t like Mondays”

and when pressed for his assesment of the day he added,

“I’m gonna shooo-ooo-ooo-oooo-oooooo-ooooot … the whole day down!”

Wow!

That’s upset for you.
